We take snapshots with our phones all the time but when was the last time the whole family was in the picture? Too often mom or dad get left out and sadly we realize that it's been years since we had a real family portrait- and everyone grew up when we weren't looking.
No snapshot or selfie can replace a portrait of your whole family- with no one left out.
Each family is unique. Your love is your own. And the story these photographs tell will not look like anyone else's. During our planning consultation, I'll ask you to describe your family and share the things you love to do together. Those answers tell so much more than you realize and set the tone for our session, guiding me as I tell your story. In the end, it all comes down to one thing: documenting this season of life and holding onto your little ones for a little while longer.
While the occassional family session does take place in the studio, most of the time we are outside, enjoying all that our beautiful state has to offer. A wide open field bathed in golden light or a mountainside sheleted by craggy peaks. Whether a wintertime wonderland or a warm summer's eve, an outdoor session instantly sets everyone at ease and allows us freedom to just relax and simply "be" - together.
The clothes really do make the image and can mean the difference between a beautifully coordinated picture and something mismatched or unflattering. Prior to our session, we go over all the styling options, text potential outfits back-and-forth, and review the studio wardrobe in case you want to borrow something. This extra level of service sets my sessions apart, and ensures that everyone, from mama to baby, looks and feels their best.
Each click of the camera is wholly intentional. Every image destined for artwork that graces the wall of your home or an heirloom album that tells the story of this season of life. Your home should be filled with the people you love the most and heriloom products and artwork do them justice so much more than digital images alone. I want you to have tangible portraits of your family and photograph each session with that goal in mind.
Gone are the days of stiff, posed portraits. Enter all things natural, honest, authentic, organic, and genuine. We all want a family picture of everyone looking at the camera and smiling happily, but the really special ones are filled with sloppy kisses, gleeful laughter, and bear hugs. And we'll capture all of it - each beautiful moment, and everything in between.

Family Sessions can be booked as a smaller petite session or larger portrait session. They are reserved with a $200 session fee and afterwards a collection is chosen, each one filled with memories and heirlooms to be cherished and enjoyed. For family sessions the goal is to present you with wall-ready artwork and heirloom albums that perfectly tells your family's story.
